Rabies

Rabies is a viral infection that affects the central nervous system of mammals, including humans. It is nearly always deadly if not treated before symptoms begin.

Bats, dogs, cats, ferrets, raccoons, skunks are some of the most likely animals that transmit rabies through bites. Wash the animal bite or scratch with soap and water immediately for at least 15 minutes, then call for medical care right away. Bat bites or scratches may be so small that you don’t notice them. If you think you’ve been exposed to the rabies virus, or if you find a bat in a closed room with a sleeping person, get medical attention right away.
